Concours Mondial de Bruxelle 2010: gold medal for Bodegas Universo Austral




















During the last days of April took place the 17th edition from the Concours Mondial de Bruxelle in Palermo, Italy. This event is known for its strictness and control, and in this edition they received more than 6950 wine samples, and they awarded only 2042 brands.

Bodegas Universo Austral obtained a Gold Medal for its wine “Calafate Malbec Reserva 2008”. This wine reached over 90 points and got one of the highest recognitions from this competition. The intensity, the color and the aromas of this Malbec were enhanced by the 270 journalists and winemakers that participated in the jury.

This competition was created in 1994 and has an excellent reputation and strict control of the samples, turning into one of the most prestigious wine contest of the World. It was the first competition to introduce an exam after the wines are awarded, to guarantee the quality of the results. At the same they developed an evaluation procedure to the tasters, to have a control of the precision, consistency and credibility of its comments.

Because of its category of World Competition, each year the contest is done in different parts of the World. The 2011 edition is going to be held in the city of Luxemburg, at the beginning of May.
