Robert Parker´s endows Dos Andes Wines with excellent reviews!!!

Dos Andes Wines was able to position itself amongst the 3 most important Chilean vineyards attaining over 89 points on the last review for Chile published last week by Robert Parker´s The Wine Advocate, a well-renown American publication.

Dos Andes attained over 90 points in 7 of its wines from vineyards Agustinos, Porta and Gracia de Chile. We positioned with high points on our Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec and Chardonnay. The awarded wines achieved soaring points owing to their exceptional quality. Additional warrant should be however allotted to these wines as not a single one of them is amongst our icon wines, demonstrating plainly that high points are not reserved exclusively to high sophisticated wines. Its an altogether different story for world-renown vineyards such as Errázuriz, attaining very high points on wines which average US$120, while our awarded wines average US$25.-

On this occasion, points were attained by our reds such as Syrah and Cabernet, and whites such as Chardonnay, as this year we did not compete with our best Pinot Noirs. Our decision is entirely based on wanting to wait before launching our new 2009 and 2010 harvests, which are unquestionably high-end wines from the unique and cool Bio Bio valley.

As a company we are very satisfied with these terrific results. High points reflect our dedication to detail in manufacturing fine wines, in addition to the daily commitment and passion provided by the team at Dos Andes in delivering quality wines.

In addition, having vineyards on Chile’s best lands, with cloned-type vines and having selected Bio Bio, Aconcagua and the best areas of Apalta is bringing our company and our wines, although still in its early days, to international prestige and recognition coming face to face with other world class producers.

In the next few days, consumers of Porta, Agustinos and Veranda will enjoy wines with Neutral CO2 certification for all valleys and regions where our company operates. Our commitment with high-quality production and producing CO2-free wines is a responsibility we have adhered to preserve the environment and deliver.

The wine reporter from the Star Tribune, Bill Ward, chose Ruta 22 Malbec 2008 as the wine of the week, because on his opinion: “mostly it’s just a pure, hearty pleasure, with blueberry – laden richness, firm tannins, and more structure and depth than most Malbecs possess".
